Corcovado National Park Tour (Back to Top)
Explore Costa Rica's natural treasure, Corcovado National Park, described by National Geographic as one of the most bio-diverse
places on Earth. You'll depart from the Lookout early in the morning in a comfortable air conditioned tour van for the riverside town
of Sierpe where you will stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast (not included in tour price). After breakfast, your guide will
accompany you onboard a covered boat for your tour down the Sierpe River through the greatest concentration of mangrove swamps
in Central America. Keep your eyes pealed for the local bird and wildlife along the river's shores. Once in the open waters, you will
cruise about 90 minutes to the Osa Peninsula where you'll often see Dolphins and Humpback and Pilot Whales. You will arrive at San
Pedrillo Ranger Station in Corcovado National Park where a bi-lingual naturalist guide will lead you through trails and the wonders
of the park's flora and fauna. A delicious picnic lunch set in a uniquely lush and tropical environment will be awaiting your return.
Dolphin and Whale Watching (Back to Top)
This tour starts as above. Once in the open waters of the Pacific, you will begin the search for some of the 5 species of dolphin and/or whales found in these waters. Your tour guide will share interesting facts about these fascinating mammals and their natural history. You will also have spectacular views of places such as Drakes Bay, Caño and Violines Islands. Be on the lookout for sea turtles as they often show up for us during this scenic tour. Lunch will be served on a pristine beach where you can soak up the sun or play
in the surf. This is a truly relaxing yet exciting tour.
Scuba Diving & Snorkeling (Back to Top)
We have two outstanding dive shops in our area that offer professionally guided scuba diving and snorkeling excursions in Costa Rica
for all levels and interests. All dives take place at either The Caño Island National Reserve or Ballena Marine National Park. The Caño
Island National Reserve protects an important marine environment (2700 marine hectares) that is inhabited by a large number of
plants, corals and animals. The clear waters are home to many species of fish, invertebrate animals, algae and mammals like
dolphins and whales. Caño Island is just a one-hour boat ride where divers can observe various underwater environments from coral
reefs to the rocky coast. You can dive at three different sites around the island.
Ballena Marine National Park provides a perfect habitat for all kinds of marine animals and plants. Within its borders you'll find
rock formations, small islands like "Isla Ballena" and the three sisters (Las Tres Hermanas) and coral reefs. Dolphins are often
spotted and migrating whales can be seen in February and March. Tons of microorganisms from the Terraba River flow into the sea
supplying food for many species of fish and their predators.

You'll depart from Ojochal to board your dive boat and head out to Caño Island. You can choose from 2 or 3 tank dive tours or just

Crocodile Night Safari
Looking for a little night life? Our professional tour guide will take you through the Mangrove swamps after dark to discover
Costa Rica's "real" night life in action. This tour will highlight some of the inhabitants of this complex environment such as bats,
opossum, sloths, owls, snakes, raccoons, frogs and of course the main and most fascinating one- the American Crocodile.
Snakes and lizards and frogs, oh my! Just 30 minutes from the Lookout, Parque Reptilandia is an impressive reptile house with
more than 150 specimens of snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles, and other creatures in terrariums and large enclosures. You can even
catch a glimpse of Central America's only Komodo dragon. There’s even a maternity ward showcasing newborn snakes. More mature
snakes live under a retractable roof that lets in sun and rain. They become much more active when it rains, so this is a great rainy-
day-at-the-beach alternative activity. Night tours can also be arranged to watch nocturnal animals at work. If you're not squeamish,
feeding day is Friday. Even if you don't love those creepy crawly things, you'll love this local attraction.
